Let them eat cake?

Tonight my baby girl and I were sharing a strawberry shortcake... fresh strawberries, angelfood cake, and fat-free Redi-whip.

Baby: "Is cake healthy?"

Me: "Nope."

Baby: "Because it has sugar in it?"

Me: "Yep."

Baby: "Yeah, and sugar doesn't have enough protein."

I thought this was funny. At age four, she knows more about nutrition than I did!

  1. Hollie! This new blog is a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e. I'm go glad that I found it! I subscribe to your other blog so I don't often find myself on the site proper and the link passed me by. CUTE. xoxo. also - any way you can add name/url as a comment option? I always want to comment but then it links me to a dead end blogger account...

  2. I had to laugh at this because I feel I have made my kids so hyper aware of protein/carbs/sodium/fat in foods they eat. They are always checking labels and I'm always talking about eating enough protein lol. What a smart little 4 yr old you've created *smile*.

  3. So funny that I read this! I just hired a dietitian for my family, my kids are both overweight and well they take after their mama and papa. I highly recommend bringing a dietitian into your home to teach your family healthy habits. There is a great site that has a ton to choose from and they're all over the us its called www.theskinnyondietitians.com. After just two sessions my kids are already showing an interest in healthy foods. We make it fun, the dietitian I found does healthy cooking also which is great bc its hands on.

  4. That is brilliant! Starting good habits such as healthy eating young tends to mean that they will take their habits with them as they grow older providing them with a healthy lifestyle, well done, I hope when I eventually have kids that they will be as clued up as yours!

  6. TO FUNNY!! Thanks for this I have had a bad day and this made me smile. I would love to have you as a follower on my blog. http://www.themewithin.com

I am fight kidney disease and if I don't lose 90 pounds soon I could go into renal failure or even die like my mother did. I was told there is no cure but a better health if I lose the weight I might be able to prolong my life even live to be very old. Although I know the clock is ticking and I am desperate for help. I started writing a book to help other people going through the same thing.

Anyway I hope you will stop by and follow me as my Google Friend or a blog buddy. I LOVE your blog!
